Water Supply Assessments (WSA):

Ravenswood/4 Corners Transit Oriented Development Specific Plan Water Supply Assessment

SB 610 amended Water Code sections 10910 and 10912 to create a direct relationship between water supply and land use. In general terms, prior to constructing developments with more than 500 homes or the equivalent, SB 610 requires the identification of an adequate 20-year water supply. The project located in San Mateo County consists of a net development scenario with approximately 351,820 square feet of R&D/Industrial space, 1,268,500 square feet of office/ space, 112,000 square feet of retail space, 61,000 square feet of community and civic facilities, 19 single-family and 816 multifamily residential units, and 30 acres of park/trails. The project is completing a water supply assessment to meet the requirements of SB 610 to be included in the City of East Palo Alto ’s CEQA document.

Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP):

City of East Palo Alto Urban Water Management Plan

IRM completed the 2010 UWMP for the City. IRM prepared the previous UWMP in 2005 and the City’s Water Master Plan completed in 2010. The update to the UWMP was started in January of 2011 and was completed per the DWR Guidebook and schedule deadlines. The California Urban Water Management Planning Act requires that UWMPs describe the suppliers’ service area, water use by customer class, water supply and demand, water service reliability and shortage response options, water transfer and exchange opportunities, water recycling efforts, and conservation measures. IRM’s intimate knowledge of the City’s water system and understanding of the 2010 requirements help establish the conservancy issues that are essential for this UWMP.

Industrial Water Evaluations:

ConAgra Foods Water Management and Strategies Reports

IRM developed water resources and strategies reports for ConAgra Foods, Inc. and its subsidiaries. The reports identified and inventoried all source water, process water, wastewater, and stormwater at each facility. Each report identified the multiple jurisdiction regulatory agencies needed to be consulted in order to secure, protect and enhance the water resources attributed to each individual facility. IRM provided recommendations for conserving, securing, protecting and enhancing the water resources attributed to each facility. IRM evaluated alternatives and developed specific markets for water resources not currently required for operation of each facility. IRM assisted facility staff as directed by management to prepare for demonstrations of activities or to negotiate on behave of the facility to secure, protect and enhance the water resources. The reports are tools for each facility and can be updated on a regular basis or as needed.
